Crush It was a book that had a few simple messages. Quit your job and become an entrepreneur. And if you’re in a job that doesn’t allow you to build your personal brand, leave today. Why? There’s no excuse to not do what you love. And two, your personal brand is going to become invaluable in the future. Your CV won’t matter anymore because everyone has one just like it.
Gary is the kind of guy who’s impossible not to pay attention to, he’s a born marketer. He’s blessed with a charismatic, natural, and affable style of talking. He’s always animated and incredibly excited about what he has to say. He’s fun to listen to.
Everyone is spending more time online. And that’s where the advertising money is going to go. Instead of holding on to a corporate job that could be taken away from you and putting all your eggs in that basket, you’d be a lot wiser by trying to figure out how to develop a personal brand on social media and get that money to head your way. It’s not going to be easy. You need to hustle, and there’s no guarantee you’ll make millions, but there’s never been a better time than now with all the different options and tools available. And it’s never been cheaper either.
Gary’s advice is to figure out what you’re the most passionate about, and passionately promote that. He also advises us to figure out the right medium to go on. Some people are great at video, others at audio, and the rest of us should stick to writing.
Nothing groundbreaking about what Gary is saying, but he throws in a few pieces of good advice here and there and makes his case passionately and convincingly.
